Zeaxanthin
Zeaxanthin is a yellow-orange carotenoid pigment produced in algae and some plants. It takes its name from the maize plant, Zea mays, and is responsible for the primary yellow color of its kernels.
It belongs to the subgroup of xanthophylls, natural substances whose main characteristic is to give the plant species that contain them a yellowish or brown hue.
