Plantain

Plantain (Plantago mayor L.) is a plant that belongs to the Plantaginaceae family. It’s a herbaceous plant that grows to 60 centimeters. Its leaves are long and lance shaped. Its flowers are light brown and inconspicuous and blossom on a long spike. It often grows wildly in uncultivated places along the sides of streets. Its name comes from the Latin word "planta", due to the fact that the leaves resemble the soles of feet. Plantain soothes the oropharyngeal mucosa and improves voice tone; additionally, it enhances upper respiratory tract function and the respiratory mucosa.
