Juniper

Juniper (Juniperus communis L.) is a small tree or shrub that belongs to the Cupressaceae family. Its height varies from 1 to 3 meters and is widespread in temperate and cold environments. It grows in arid, windswept mountainous regions up to 1500 meters above sea level. Juniper berries are used in industrial productions of flavoured wines and spirits, such as gin. They are used in cooking for flavoring meats, especially dishes with venison. Juniper seeds have been used for centuries for their heading properties; they help digestive function, get rid of excess body liquids, and improve urinary tract function. They are also a great detoxifier which promotes healthy skin.
