Ivy
Ivy (Hedera helix L.) is a genus Hedera plant and belongs to the Araliaceae family. It’s found on aged buildings or ruins, trees or in shady forests in the underbrush. It can grow both creeping or clinging and can grow up to 25 meters in height.
Its leaves are used in herbal medicine because they contain flavonoids, polyacetylenes and triterpenoid saponins (particularly alfaederina), all compounds that help increase bronchial secretion fluidity.
