Gymnema

Gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre) is a large, woody climbing plant that belongs to the Asclepiadaceae family. It has oval or elliptical shaped leaves, and its flowers are yellow and have a bell shape. It’s widespread in the tropical areas of Africa, Asia and Australia because of the humid climate. It has been used for ages in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for its hypoglycemic properties. Its name in India is gur mar, which literally means "sugar eater". Gymnema has a beneficial effect on the metabolism of  carbohydrates and lipids. It is also useful in helping  to control the feeling of hunger.
