Green Anise

Green Anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) is an annual plant that belongs to the Apiaceae family. It is characterized by bright yellow flowers and small brown oval seeds. Its flavour is very similar to fennel.
Green anise is most commonly known as a digestive aid. Even the Romans appreciated this specific quality, in fact, they would often consume it at the end of a banquet.
It’s widely used in herbal medicine still today because it helps improve digestive function, fights bloating, regulates gastrointestinal motility and eliminates gas.
