Clove (essential oil)

Clove essential oil is obtained from the tropical plant Eugenia Caryophillata, belonging to the Mirtaceae family. This evergreen tree, that can reach up to 12 meters in height, is originally from the islands of the Indonesian archipelago, but it is also cultivated in other tropical areas, such as Brazil, the Antilles, the islands of the Indian Ocean. Herbal medicine and cooking make use of its dried buds, called "cloves" due to the shape they take after drying.
