Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil is extracted from almond tree seeds (Prunus dulcis), a tree that belongs to the Rosaceae family. This native of Southwest Asia is a small tree that grows to be about 5 meters high. It was the Phoenicians who introduced this tree to Sicily and Greece (the Romans called it "Greek nut"). Then it spread to all the Mediterranean countries. Sweet almond oil is rich in oleic and linoleic acid, has soothing properties and is recommended for treating dry and dehydrated skin and alleviating itching and sunburns.
